Hey, I'm Tyler 👋

I'm a developer who likes to be comfortable across the whole map — web, mobile, systems, cloud and, increasingly, AI. I started out in Python and never really stopped collecting languages: today I work in Python, JavaScript & TypeScript, C, C++, C#, Rust, Go, Java, Kotlin and Dart, and reach for whichever one actually fits the problem in front of me.

On the web and desktop side I build with React, Next.js, Node.js, Electron and Tailwind CSS. For mobile I work with Flutter and Kotlin. Data and infrastructure usually means MongoDB, Firebase and AWS, with the usual Git/Docker plumbing holding it all together.

I also spend a lot of time in the AI space — working with large language models and training custom LoRAs to fine-tune them for specific jobs. It's the part of the field moving fastest, which is exactly why I enjoy it.

Alongside my own projects, I take on contract work — most recently building tools for a charity, supporting a self-employed cyber security consultant, and tinkering with Raspberry Pi hardware and the software that runs on it. I like problems that sit at the edge of web, hardware and security.

I'm a lifelong learner by nature. The stack I use in a year's time will look different from today's, and that's the part I enjoy most — there's always a new tool worth picking up.

And yes, I try to keep a sense of humour about the whole thing. Good code and a few laughs aren't mutually exclusive.
